WHAT DOES WHISTLEBLOWING/REPORTING MEAN?
The term whistleblowing refers to the spontaneous disclosure by an individual, known as a “whistleblower,” of an illegal act committed within the company, which the whistleblower has witnessed in the course of their work. This disclosure takes the form of a “report,” which must be made and handled in accordance with current regulations (Legislative Decree 24/2023, which implements EU Directive 2109/1937). The purpose of the regulations is to combat and prosecute illegal acts by implementing channels designed to bring them to light while protecting the whistleblower.
